WHY I LOVE…Richmond Hill

Our Richmond Director of Sales, Patrick Glynn-Jones, tells us about his favourite places on and around Richmond Hill.

I feel incredibly lucky to work in such a beautiful town, there are always new things to notice and the stunning, period architecture in and around Richmond really is hard to beat.

Here are just a few of my favourite places close to Richmond Hill:

The spire of St. Mathias Church peaks out above the rooftops of the houses towards the top of Mount Ararat Road. I always feel it almost acts as a beacon to local residents and love to see it when I’m out and about in the area.

Rosemont Road is one of very few no-through-roads on Richmond Hill, within moments of the Ofsted Outstanding The Vineyard School and accordingly highly sought after.

This terrace of apartments has enormous style and from the upper floors it enjoys exceptional views down towards Petersham Meadows and the meandering River Thames.

This area of Richmond Hill is now known as The Village and has evolved significantly over the last decade and is now café society at its most appealing….it’s just moments from delightful Terrace Gardens and the view is protected by an Act of Parliament. The truly outstanding scene was famously painted by Reynolds and Turner.

On closer inspection, this image typifies Richmond Hill in that even in one terrace, there can be any number of different architectural styles. The six houses one can see here are all different.

It’s easy to see why Richmond Hill has attracted admirers for hundreds of years – all this, and with stunning Royal Richmond Park as your prize for walking to the top.
