Directions

From Barnstaple, proceed on the A39 towards Bideford and continue until reaching the Heywood Road Roundabout, after passing over the River Torridge. Turn left here, and proceed through the town of Bideford. Take the A386 signposted towards Great Torrington and stay on this road passing through the village of Landcross. After a short distance, take the left hand turning signposted towards Weare Giffard. You will then take a sharp left hand bend, passing underneath a bridge. Continue, passing over a hump back bridge, and then take the first turning on the left hand side, signposted Gammaton and Halspill. Continue for just under a mile, where you will pass through a farm, and the road will then begin to climb uphill.
