The Property
Built in the 1960s and bought by the present owners in 2009, Rose Cottage has been extensively refurbished since then with gas fired under floor heating and a pressurised hot water system, rain water harvesting, high levels of insulation, new hardwood double glazed windows and doors and a west facing conservatory.

The construction is of local limestone and ironstone with a tiled roof. The accommodation laid out, over two floors, is most adaptable. Set within a fully walled garden, there is a high level of security.

There is limestone flooring throughout the entrance hall, cloakroom, conservatory, kitchen/breakfast room, back hall and utility room. The superb hand painted kitchen is by Willowbrook.

Rose Cottage stands gable end on to the village street with a gravelled parking and turning area for three or four cars. The double garage is accessed from here and has an electric up and over door.

Double hardwood gates, with entry phone, open into the walled garden. A paved path leads to the front and back doors and opposite the former is a stone paved terrace. The path continues into the main body of the garden, where there is a croquet lawn flanked by well planted herbaceous borders and rose beds and overlooked by a summer house. There is a vegetable garden area and a timber garden shed. Rainwater is stored and recycled for the WCs in the house and for the hoses in the garden.
