Situation
Forest Lodge lies on the Western fringe of the Dartmoor National Park adjoining Lydford Forest, high above the fast flowing river Lyd as it leaves the picturesque Lydford Gorge. As its name suggests, Forest Lodge is situated in a woodland setting, completely on its own, at the end of a long, unmade lane. Leading immediately from the property, a network of paths (accessible by permit) leads through the steep sided Forestry Commission woodlands running down to the river. From its clearing beside the woods there are views south, over the valley to the Brent Tor beyond and, to the east, the tors and open moorland of West Dartmoor lie about 2 miles away and form the wide horizon.
Although appearing to be completely off the beaten track, Forest Lodge is only a mile and a half out of the popular village of Lydford, which has a primary school, pub and Norman castle. It is only 9 miles from the larger town of Tavistock, with its stunning
Victorian town centre offering a range of speciality shops, hotels, pubs, restaurants and Mount Kelly College. In the other direction, the A30 dual carriageway, running down the spine of the West Country, gives access east to the motorway network at Exeter and west, down into Cornwall.

Description
Forest Lodge started life as a small farmhouse which has been extended to provide a comfortable, modern country house with attractive, stylish fitted bathrooms and kitchen, double glazing, timber and slate flooring and a south facing terrace opening out from the principal reception rooms.
Outside, the extensive outbuildings have been developed for equestrian use, with stabling, feed rooms and covered vehicle storage
The land rises behind the house and is bordered on all sides by the adjoining forest. It is divided into 2 principal enclosures either side of the entrance drive and at the top end there is a floodlit, all-weather school.

Beside the proeprty is Lot 2, which is a barn with planning permission and about 1.5 acres, which is avaibale by separate negotiation.
