Abruzzo - also known as Abruzzi) is a region of south
central Italy. It borders the Marche to the northwest, Lazio
to the south, Molise to the southeast and the Adriatic sea to
the east. This region is rich in natural beauty and history,
but is only just starting to be discovered by tourism.

The rocky mountain slopes of the Gran Sasso, Maiella and Velino,
vast forests, soft hilly landscapes and the magnificent sandy
beaches of the Adriatic coast are the natural treasures of the
region.

in the Abruzzo region.

Tuscany - The landscape of Tuscany is truly beautiful
with walled towns, towering Cyprus trees, rolling vineyards
and the tranquillity of a rural lifestyle that has been preserved
through the centuries.

Tuscan cities such as Florence, Siena and Pisa as well as towns
such as Lucca, Cortona and Arezzo, house some of Italys
greatest artistic treasures.

The Chianti region, with rolling hills dotted with vines and
silvery olive groves and dozens of pretty villages, all of which
offer unlimited opportunities to sample and buy wine, is probably
the best-known area of Tuscany.

Beyond this region, the landscape is dotted with medieval villages
and hill towns, such as San Gimignano, Colle di Val delsa
and Pienza, and wonderful hilltowns such as Barga in the Garfagnana
is often overlooked.

The Tuscany coast (Riviera della Versilia) is probably the largest
stretch of uninterrupted golden sand in Italy. Back-dropped
by the Alpi Apuane and within easy reach of Lucca, Pisa and
Florence, stylish resorts with pine-shaded villas and apartments,
elegant boutiques and stylish bars and restaurants provide the
perfect location for sun-worshippers. Southern Tuscany is an
infinite landscape of trees and vineyards, with elegant towns
such as Montepulciano and Montalcino. |
