Property to rent in the shadows of Big Ben, Westminster
Writes Georgina Clarke from Pimlico estate agents Jackson Stops & Staff:
“The Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament which contains the bell we know as Big Ben has today been officially renamed the Elizabeth Tower in honour of her Majesty The Queen on her Diamond Jubilee.
“If you would like to live within the shadows of this world famous clock tower, we have three flats available to rent in this fabulous recent development on Tufton Street just through the arch of Dean’s Yard and a few minute’s walk to the Palace of Westminster.”

Celebrating the delights of the Westmoreland Triangle, Pimlico
Writes Georgina Clarke, Lettings Director at Pimlico estate agents Jackson Stops & Staff:
“Hot on the heels of the Diamond Jubilee, we have just sponsored the Westmoreland Residents Association annual street party. Jackson-Stops & Staff have sponsored the event for several years with some of our contribution being donated to a local charity.
“And we are currently marketing a number of properties in what is known as the ‘Westmoreland Triangle‘, an area made up of two streets on South West side of the Pimlico ‘grid’. It is well located for Victoria, but close also to Sloane Square and the River Thames and just a quick trot across the River to Battersea Park.
“The houses here are smaller than the main grid houses and provide affordable central London family accommodation within easy walking distance of the popular schools. The houses are typically four bedrooms plus providing accommodation in the range of 2,000 – 3,000 sq ft of space.”
“We have a lovely five bedroom family house to rent in Westmoreland Terrace (click here), a three bedroom upper maisonette available for rent on Westmoreland Place (click here) and a house for sale on Westmoreland Terrace at £1,895,000 (click here).

Ushering in some Wimbledon sunshine
With the 126th Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships upon us, we at Jackson Stops & Staff have been embarking on a competition of our own.
Staff from the Firm’s Wimbledon Village office attended last Saturday’s Wimbledon Village Fete and had great fun getting to grips with the new craze – zorbing.
So, if any of the tennis players at London SW19 feel like unwinding, we know a great cure. And of course, if they are looking for a house to buy or rent, we’d be happy to help.

Property to let in Bushy Park evoking the 1967 Summer of Love!
Writes Mark Birch from Teddington letting agents Jackson Stops & Staff:
“We have just taken on a new build in Makepeace Court overlooking Bushy Park. This unusual name and the advent of some long-awaited good weather got me thinking about the inspiration for the name.
“1967 was the Summer of Love when young people living in the Haight & Ashbury area of San Francisco believed they could make peace and change the world with Flower Power.
“That same year, Van Morrison penned perhaps his most famous song ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ and he is one of a number of acts which can be seen at the Hampton Court Palace Concerts the other side of Bushy Park from 14th to 24th June.
“Alternatively you could always admire or be inspired with flower power at the Hampton Court Flower Show next month.”

Emergence of property market divide in Chelsea
Writes Jamie Hope, senior negotiator at Chelsea estate agents Jackson Stops & Staff:
“With the effects of the Eurozone instability taking effect in prime central London, we are seeing a divide in the market. Some properties have been over-valued by optimistic agents and are not receiving interest from the marketing exposure that they are given, meaning the property remains on the market unsold.
“On the other hand, prime property that has been accurately valued is selling extremely quickly and often setting record prices despite the afflictions of our macro-economic situation.
“A prime example of this is a flat we recently sold on Burton Court, SW3. We carried out over 120 viewings within five days of marketing with an asking price of £3.2m. After announcing a sealed bid, we received 19 offers and sold the property for over £4m.”
If you are looking to have your property valued, please speak to Jamie on 020 7581 5881.
