Achieving a better work/life balance in Teddington

Filed under: Latest News — Tags: — David Taylor @ 11:46 am

Writes Mark Birch from Teddington lettings agents Jackson Stops & Staff:

“I was watching a re-run of Grand Designs the other night with Kevin McCloud the presenter observing the highs and lows of the journey to fruition of a dream home and this got me thinking. If you cut out all the characters, the challenges and the architecture, the key reason the majority of people put themselves through all this is to get a better work/life balance.

“In today’s society, what better way is there to bring these balances closer than to work from home. We have just been instructed to let a property perfectly suited for this in Elmfield Avenue. Not only are you moments away from the shops/station but there is the convenience of off-street parking.

“This five bedroom house also boasts a comprehensive outbuilding which includes an en suite shower and bedding area, which the landlord purchased after reading about them in Homes & Gardens magazine.

“This makes a perfect work area, to be shut off when the day is done so you can then relax watching Grand Designs –  rebalancing your work life balance at a lot less cost and stress than building your own dream house.”

For full details about the property, click here. It is available to rent at £2,450 per calendar month.

Olympic torch passes through Pimlico & Chelsea

Filed under: Latest News — Tags: , — David Taylor @ 3:10 pm

This afternoon, the members of staff Pimlico estate agents Jackson Stops & Staff gathered on Chelsea Bridge to watch the passing of the Olympic torch on the penultimate day of its journey: what an experience!

The atmosphere was electric as chef and tri-athlete Tom Aikens – nominated in recognition of his extensive support and charitable work for Team 2012, the fundraising campaign for British athletes – completed his leg of the journey against the stunning backdrop of the River Thames and Battersea Power Station.

Tom was greeted by an excited crowd and showered with cheers and applause – this was truly a magical moment for all who were there and we, in the office, feel very lucky to have been a part of this once-in-a-lifetime event.

For properties lining the Olympic route, please call our Pimlico office on 020 7828 4050, or our Chelsea office on 020 7581 8431.

Jamie Hope from Chelsea estate agents Jackson Stops & Staff writes:

“With the lack of property on the market at the moment, many buyers have come to us in order to tap into our buying expertise. In a tight market where many properties are sold off-market, a buying agent can add significant value in securing a property above other buyers or as cheaply as possible.

“Just today we have put a Knightsbridge flat under offer on behalf of a buyer despite stiff competition in the bidding. If you are looking for the most exclusive properties, give us a call.”

Stamp Duty Land Tax and prime property sales in London

Filed under: Latest News — Tags: — David Taylor @ 9:03 am

Writes Jamie Hope, Senior Sales Negotiator at Chelsea estate agents Jackson-Stops & Staff:

“We have started to see some of the effects of the recent Stamp Duty Land Tax changes on the prime property sales. Owner occupiers who are at the top end of their budget have let the dust settle and re-aligned their budget to accommodate for the 2% increase in tax above £2m.

“Many vendors however have not adjusted for this and property is remaining unsold which is also not helped by the over-valuing done by other agents in order to secure instructions which inevitably do not sell.

“There is still strong demand for quality property that has been accurately priced so if you are considering selling, please do contact this office for accurate and professional advice.

“Due to the confidential nature of many of our sales, we also have property for sale that is not advertised. If you are looking for prime property, please speak to either myself or Charles Puxley.”

Wimbledon estate agent going the extra 850 miles!

Filed under: Latest News — Tags: — David Taylor @ 7:48 am

Wimbledon estate agent Tom Millington is finishing his final preparations for cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats.

Starting on the 20th July, the Jackson Stops & Staff Sales Negotiator, is undergoing this challenge in aid of Alzheimer’s Society, a great challenge for a great cause.

He says: “Myself and two other lifelong friends are saddling up and cycling the 850 miles in 7.5 days. We will be averaging roughly 120 miles and munching our way through 10,000 calories a day.  It should be a great challenge but I’m sure there will be a fair few ups and downs.

“Sponsorship has already started to accumulate which is fantastic and many thanks to my Jackson Stops & Staff colleagues for their support already.

“We will be updating our Just Giving page, Twitter feed and the blog as much as we can to keep all informed of our progress.  Seeing our total increase day-on-day will really keep the morale high as I’m sure there will be some dark times, so please dig deep!
