Cooking up a storm in Notting Hill

Filed under: Latest News — Tags: — David Taylor @ 8:50 am

Writes Kate Brennan, sales manager at the Notting Hill office of estate agent Jackson Stops & Staff:

“As we head towards the autumn, the property market in W11 remains largely positive and we continue to register a great number of buyers and tenants on a regular basis. As agents we are sensing a general feeling of frustration regarding the lack of quality stock that the area has to offer. Consequently, we have noticed that a significant number of buyers and tenants are beginning to broaden their search beyond the immediate vicinity.

“In recent local news you may have spied over the last few months a large amount of construction work on the corner of Notting Hill Gate and Pembridge Road.  The scaffolding has now been removed and a sparkling new Jamie Oliver cookery school and kitchen shop is in full swing and buzzing with activity.

“It will be the third branch of Recipease after Clapham Junction and Brighton and will further raise the ever expanding profile of Jamie Oliver’s empire and more importantly is expected to trigger a transformation of Notting Hill Gate.”

Want to perform like an Olympic rower? We’ve got just the house for you to rent by the river in Kingston

Filed under: Latest News — Tags: — David Taylor @ 9:01 am

Writes mark Birch from Teddington estate agents Jackson Stops & Staff:

“What a couple of weeks it has been. The Olympics and in particular the British success really lifted everyone’s spirits and hopefully has given people inspiration to take a more active role in sport.

“True it is only a select elite that make it to Olympic glory but everyone has to start from somewhere. Take for example the British rowing team with nine medals, the first being won by the Women’s pairs of which Helen Glover only started rowing in 2008.

“If you are really serious you will need to put the hours in and where better to be located than in Kingston. Here we have a new one bedroom apartment in Marina Place located moments from Kingston Rowing Club, one of the premier rowing clubs on the Thames which has been around since 1858.

“The property is also moments from Hampton Wick Station and also only 33 minutes from Waterloo Station with trains running every 15 minutes so you can fit your work round training. Click here for details.

“So as the Olympics moves onto Rio and it seems to be all over………….. is it for you?”

Updating his earlier post from this morning, Jackson Stops & Staff lettings manager Mark Birch writes:

“Teddington has just witness history in the making with Bradley Wiggins taking gold in the Men’s Individual time trial and fellow Brit Chris Frome taking Bronze.

“Not only has Mr Wiggins been the first Britain to win the Tour de France but is also the most successful Olympic British cyclist in history.

“The Teddington community and I have witnessed the events unfold and there really was a fantastic feeling in the air – a sense of togetherness – something which is common in this friendly community.”

Come out Teddington with your hands up. You are surrounded!

Mark Birch from the Jackson Stops & Staff estate agency in the town’s High Street says: “Teddington and the surrounding areas are in lockdown today with numerous road closures due to the men’s and ladies’ Olympic bike race. In anticipation of the  traffic chaos this would cause I cycled in this morning.

“Across the closed Kingston Bridge and along Kingston Road I went, test riding the Olympic bike route and becoming a temporary participant. It was great.

“There is a lovely air of calm with very few vehicles on the roads and a growing aura of excitement, so come out Teddington with your hands up and support Team GB in the time trial!”
