Location

Shoemakers is located in London's
fashionable Southbank area, making it an ideal base to enjoy all that
central London has to offer. Although the West End is as few as
two underground stops away, one can find an abundance of
culture, shops, bars, restaurants and attractions right on the
doorstep. Having undergone significant regeneration in recent
years, the area is now home to some of London's most celebrated
attractions.

Many of the UK's finest theatres, art galleries, museums and
performing arts centres are located within easy reach.
World-renowned venues such as The National, The Old Vic and
Shakespeare's Globe have an enviable year-round programme of
both classic and modern theatre.

As the main entry to London from the south, the area was
historically known for its inns, most notably the Tabard,
meeting place of Chaucer's pilgrims, and the George Inn, which
was rebuilt in 1677 and is a popular hostelry to this day. The
Southbank continues to have an enviable reputation for its wide
variety of restaurants and bars, including the renowned Oxo
Tower. Whether entertaining friends or simply looking for an
experience of your own, you will find a host of attractions
within easy reach. Take a short stroll down to the Thames Path
and wander along the river to find Bargehouse, Bernie Spain
Gardens, Gabriels Wharf, The London Eye and The London Aquarium.
From here you will also get some of the best views of the fine
architecture on the north bank; Temple, Somerset House,
Whitehall and, of course, the Houses of Parliament.
