The historic resort of Lyme Regis is just 3 miles to the west, offering sailing, mackerel fishing, theatre and hosting many festivals throughout the year, with many independent shops and restaurants including Mark Hix's Oyster & Fish House. Axminster is under 6 miles away with a large supermarket and a variety of independent shops and restaurants and a mainline railway station to London Waterloo.
