THE PROPERTY

A truly stunning timber clad property in arguably the most enviable position in Charmouth, beautifully restored with a delightful garden, incredible paved terrace, and far-reaching sea and coastal views. THE PROPERTY Situated in arguably the most enviable position in this hugely popular seaside village, when first setting eyes on Mount Cottage it is impossible not to smile. This truly spectacular property, which dates back to the 1920s has recently undergone a fastidious programme of works resulting in a magical property with stunning views of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and out to sea across Lyme Bay to Portland. On first entering the property there is a real sense of charm, space and light with an entrance hall with well organised coat/boot storage. This leads perfectly into the most delightful and perfectly proportioned sitting room with a central fireplace and beautiful wooden flooring, with double doors leading out to the most delightful garden and superb natural stone paved terrace. Also worth a special mention is the wonderful dining room, which also has a central fireplace and like most of the rooms in the house has the most spectacular sea and coastal views. The kitchen is a very good size, incorporating a number of built in and freestanding units, tiled flooring and a professional Lacanche range oven. Alongside the kitchen is an incredible garden room, an ideal place to sit and relax with a morning coffee and watch the ships sail past! Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with beautiful freestanding antique copper bath. The bedrooms are situated on the first floor, with three in total and a separate shower room. The views from here are even more spectacular. The main garden is situated to the rear of the property, a utopia for children and animals, with a large lawned area and paved terrace ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining on a large scale. There is a timber outbuilding and vegetable area, and even a hidden children's den. To the front of the property is another very good-sized timber outbuilding, paved terrace and ample parking. All in all, this is a truly stunning property in an idyllic yet very convenient location within walking distance of the beach. LOCATION Charmouth is a delightful unspoilt seaside village set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its Jurassic coastline being awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site Status in 2001. The blue flag beach itself is well renowned for its fossils, and it is a great attraction for both amateur and experienced hunters alike. The village offers excellent amenities including newsagents/general store, bakery, hairdresser, doctors surgery, library, restaurants and pubs. Much of the surrounding countryside is either owned or controlled by the National Trust, with an abundance of footpaths on the doorstep. The historic resort of Lyme Regis is just 3 miles to the west, offering sailing, mackerel fishing, theatre and hosting many festivals throughout the year, with many independent shops and restaurants including Mark Hix's Oyster & Fish House. Axminster is under 6 miles away with a large supermarket and a variety of independent shops and restaurants and a mainline railway station to London Waterloo. The larger city of Exeter lies some 32 miles away, with an international airport and large range of facilities and high street shopping with department stores including a large John Lewis.
