The Professional Services Department based in London has historically provided private clients, banks, trustees and charities with expert advice on residential property in both London and the country.

In addition to formal valuations which are undertaken by a suitably qualified valuer who is part of the Registered Valuer Scheme, in accordance with the requirements set out by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, often referred to as a Red Book Valuation. We provide advice on the restoration of historic buildings, residential development projects, the conversion of period buildings to new uses, bespoke new houses as well as tax planning where it involves land or residential buildings.

For over 20 years we have advised clients on a number of issues relating to listed buildings and how to interpret the listed legislation. We were the first firm to submit a Capital Transfer Tax (now Inheritance Tax) exemption report for an historic house and have advised a number of owners, trustees and executors on matters arising on Listed Buildings.
