The region is well known for its enviable position at the foot of the South Downs, one of the most beautiful areas for walking and riding on the numerous footpaths & bridleways, and offers well know attractions such as The Festival of Speed and The Revival at Goodwood Motor Circuit, Goodwood Racecourse and Goodwood Golf Club and The Cowdray Park Estate, Cowdray Polo Club and Cowdray Golf Course. There is sailing out of Chichester Harbour and other centres along the south coast. Midhurst itself is centrally located and surrounded by many charming villages including Heyshott and South Ambersham to the south; Graffham, Tillington, Petworth, Kirdford, Wisborough Green and Pulborough to the east; Easebourne, Fernhurst and Haslemere to the north and Iping, Milland, Redford, Stedham, Minsted and Rogate to the west. Lodsworth, Lickfold and Lurgashall are extremely popular.
