Chichester Festival Theatre
We proudly sponsor the Chichester Festival Theatre as part of our ongoing commitment to protecting the best of West Sussex life. For over 50 years, it has been producing world-class performances and benefits from a complete refurbishment programme to its Grade II listed building.
Jackson-Stops & Staff is delighted to support the latest production, Gypsy, considered one of the greatest of the Broadway musicals, which features national stars such as Imelda Staunton and Kevin Whately. Showing between 6 October and 8 November 2014.
Two Great British Fencers
Jackson-Stops are proud to sponsor Tom & George Hendrie, the sons of Michelle Hendrie who works in the sales.
More recently, they swapped foils for trowels when they laid the first brick for the new Grange Centre in Midhurst. Tom & George were chosen for the honour as they use the current Grange for training and will be regular users of the new building when it opens in early 2014 as they carry on their training in the hope of representing Britain at the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. They were presented with a commemorative silver engraved trowel, marked with their names and the date, after placing the first brick at the foot of the first wall; the specially-marked brick being the first of 96,000 bricks which will make up the walls of the new centre.
Brothers Tom (21 years) & George Hendrie (18 years) have started the season on fighting form. Both competed in the Essex Open in September, which culminated in an all-Hendrie final with Tom being the eventual winner of a closely fought match, the score being 15-13.
The British National Championships were held in Gateshead in October and both surpassed last year's ranking of joint 12th, with George taking 7th and Tom 11th.
The brothers are currently placed just outside the Top 10 British Adult Men's Foil Rankings, with George currently in 11th place and Tom in 13th. The competition is hotting up between them to see which one will make it into the Top 10 first - an achievement they both aim to accomplish this season.
George is currently ranked 4th in Juniors (under 20 yrs) and he is hoping to improve on this during the course of the season.
