Chichester Festival Theatre

We have been sponsors of the Chichester Festival Theatre for a long time now and are delighted to be associated with it. It has a fantastic reputation for high quality productions and attracts world class top actors and performers. Yet another reason why people like to live in West Sussex. Only 12 miles south of Midhurst, The Festival Theatre is widely supported by our clients and it hosts many topical and entertaining spectacles.
We sponsored the original production of Yes, Prime Minister in 201 and it was great to see it return to the Theatre this year for a second time, on this occasion with Graham Seed and Michael Simkins.
Chichester Festival Theatre has just been awarded the ‘Regional Theatre of the Year’ award by The Stage, which is the UK's leading newspaper for the entertainment industry. It has a dazzling international reputation for producing a wide range of theatrical productions, from musicals and comedies to classic drama and innovative new writing. Naturally this attracts stars from all over the globe. This year it celebrates its 50 year anniversary and on 9th February the Festival 2012 dates will be announced. The main theatre has the capacity for over 1200 seats and the more intimate Minerva theatre can seat 283 spectators for a more theatrical experience.
Two Great British Fencers

Jackson-Stops & Staff are proud to sponsor Tom & George Hendrie, the sons of Michelle Hendrie who works in the sales office of the Midhurst Office.
After the first day of the Junior (U20yrs) Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Jersey. George won silver in the Individual Men’s Foil Event, winning all of his poule fights to start the direct elimination rounds ranked 2nd, this gave him a bye into the last 32. George then fenced Michael Dzodzos of Australia, winning 15-7 to take him into the last 16. George then fenced Chris Hart, also from Australia, winning 15-6 to go into the last 8. For George’s quarter final match he faced Alastair Keyes from Canada, ranked 7th. George had to work hard to figure out his opponents style and pace, he was soon 4-0 down and 3-8 down at the first break. During the second period, George pulled the score back to 10 all and ended the period 10-11 up. In the final 3 minute period George extended his lead, winning 15-12. For his semi-final match George fenced Andre Vern Han from Malaysia, winning 15-6 within the first 3 minute period. This put George into the final where he faced fellow England team mate Amol Rattan – Amol started fast and George was unable to take control and command of the fight, finally losing in the third period 15-8. George will now compete with fellow team mates in the men’s foil team event on Thursday.
Meanwhile, George’s elder brother Tom competed on Saturday in the Hampshire Open. Tom lost a match in his poule round, but sailed through his direct elimination rounds with relative ease, winning the final 15-4 and retaining the cup for the second year.

Cowdray Polo Sponsorship

Polo is played on the Prestigious grounds at Cowdray Park and Ambersham Common in Midhurst from Easter through to September each year, with 50 matches played during the 4 week long internationally renowned high goal Gold Cup Competition.
The Polo Club celebrated its Centenary in 2010 and over the years the greatest polo players in the world and even royality have played at Cowdray. Our long association with the polo fraternity is cemented in a partnership whereby Jackson-Stops & Staff sponsor the scoreboards on three pitches at Ambersham and support the Annual International Match and the Midhurst Town Cup. This was first played in 1953 the idea of the Late Viscount Cowdray 2nd. It was he who nurtured the Club and the game in the UK after the war and became known as the 'father' of the modern game. Located in Midhurst at the heart of the polo we are well placed to support equestrian enquiries and help polo enthusiasts and players alike find property to buy in the area at all levels of the market.
We are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious sport and so great a club. Please visit Cowdray Polo website for more information. www.cowdraypolo.co.uk
