Updated on 10 August 2020

General

Jackson-Stops is committed to helping all parties in the home moving and property management processes. Our offices are open and visitors welcome by prior appointment.
In order to minimise risk to our clients, employees and the public we have adopted a policy in line with Government guidelines. We ask everyone to abide by our policies as summarised below, which our directors and teams will all be adhering to.

Health checks: guidelines for all parties.

Before any appointments can be arranged we ask you to confirm by email the following health check statements:

  • No one in your household including yourself and anyone else who will be present at the appointment has suffered from any symptoms associated with COVID-19 in the last 10 days.
  • No one in your household including yourself and anyone else attending the appointment is currently self-isolating or in an “at risk” category.
  • Please inform us prior to the appointment if your situation relating to any of the above changes.

Client appointments

When we are visiting your property for a marketing appraisal, viewings or for any other purpose we ask that you abide by the following procedures:

  • Briefings and initial discussions with you should take place by telephone.
  • Health check statements must be confirmed (see above) prior to an appointment.
  • You should prepare your property in advance by opening internal doors and/or windows to ensure full ventilation.
  • All discussions between any parties must be at a safe, two metre distance with any collateral, such as cards, brochures and plans, left on a nearby surface.
  • For your own safety, property inspections should be conducted unaccompanied while you remain outside or in one room; any pets should also be kept in one location.
  • A minimum 2 metre distance must be maintained by all parties at all times and particular care should be taken in confined spaces such as stairs.
  • Discussions must be kept to a minimum when inside a property and any internal inspections should also be kept to as short a timeframe as possible.
  • Once visitors have left your property, we ask that surfaces and door handles are cleaned with antiseptic wipes and hands are washed thoroughly after departure.
  • Subsequent discussions and advice will then follow via telephone so as to keep the time in which we are in contact to a minimum.

Viewings

The Government home moving guidance recommends sensible precautions to protect all parties involved when viewing a property and we have put the following procedures in place:

  • To limit the number of viewings, please check in detail the property particulars, and, where possible, conduct an initial inspection virtually via a video tour.
  • Prior to any physical appointments, a health check statements must be confirmed (see above).
  • To view a property you must make an appointment. These viewings are subject to a maximum of two adults from a single household and one of our representatives. We ask that no children are present. There will be no open house viewings.
  • Please bring with you hand sanitiser which should be used on arrival at and departure from the property.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be worn wherever possible with a minimum requirement of face masks and gloves.
  • A minimum 2 metre distance must be maintained by all parties at all times and particular care should be taken in confined spaces such as stairs.
  • Time for viewings will be limited and any discussions about the property will be held outside wherever possible at 2 metre distance.
  • On completion of a viewing all PPE must be disposed of correctly and your hands should be wash and/or sanitised.
  • All parties should wash their hands and avoid touching surfaces where possible.

Subsequent discussions and advice should be by telephone to keep the time in which we are in contact to a minimum.
