Richard Addington

An experienced property agent specialising in
prime rural and coastal property

Richard Addington started his property career in Devon in 1979 and has been helping clients buy, sell and value property almost continuously since then. During the last 40 years, he has developed a very detailed knowledge of the Devon property market; who is actively participating in it, the best properties and the trends and influences bearing upon it. He has sold and valued some of the most well-known properties in the county as well as some of those lesser known gems, hidden away amongst the beautiful moors and valleys.

He lives on the eastern edge of Dartmoor, in the house he and his wife built 30 years ago. Richard heads up the Jackson-Stops team in Southernhay, Exeter covering most of the county.  Whilst the office covers the sale and valuation of the full range of prime properties from chocolate box cottages to seaside apartments to manor houses, he finds that many of his clients are now downsizing from larger rural properties to more manageable village or urban homes.

During his 4 decades in estate agency much has changed in working practises, especially in the use of technology to assess, market and promote property.  Whilst Jackson-Stops fully embrace these new tools of the trade, what hasn’t changed is the need for well-judged and reliable advice. He is enthusiastic to continue to use his many years experience to deliver a professional service in helping clients achieve a move on the best possible terms.
