Stepping into the entrance hall the Victorian character is obvious, but beyond that the style is wonderfully eclectic. Hilton is a pretty village situated in one of the lovely valleys to the west of Blandford Forum a stone's throw from Milton Abbey and Bulbarrow, and surrounded by some of the most picturesque countryside in the south of England. There is wonderful walking, cycling and riding all around the village, and Poole Harbour, Studland Bay and Dorset's famous Jurassic Coastline are all under and an hours' drive away to the south. Hilton has a thriving community and although there are no services it is by no means isolated. There are pubs and farm shops nearby in Milton Abbey (The Hambro) and Antsy (The Fox) and village shops a few miles in either direction in Hazelbury Bryan and Milborne St. Andrew. More extensive amenities are only a short drive away in Blandford and Dorchester, and there are mainline railway stations within half an hour in Sherborne and the village of Moreton (with regular trains to London Waterloo). The easiest drive to London and the home counties is via Blandford and Salisbury onto the A303/M3. This part of Dorset has also become popular for its excellent choice of schools at all levels with primary schools nearby in Cheselborne and Milborne St. Andrew, secondary schools in Dorchester and Blandford, and a wide selection of independent schools. Milton Abbey, Bryanston and Knighton House (prep) are on the doorstep. Canford, Clayesmore, Sherborne and Hanford (prep) are nearby. Mains electricity and water are available at the property.
