Ford is a Cotswold hamlet comprising of period and contemporary cottages and houses situated in a lovely rolling region of the Cotswolds, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This hamlet has an excellent public house called The Plough. Neighbouring Temple Guiting offers a fine old Parish Church, a superb village store with coffee shop, village hall and playing fields. Guiting Power, with a busy community has a beautiful 12th Century Church, village hall and playing field, village shop with post office and a café, a wonderful bakery and two pubs. Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park is nearby. The immediate area offers an excellent network of footpaths and bridleways linking all these lovely villages. More extensive shopping is available nearby in the pretty market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton on-the-Water, and Winchcombe, while a few miles further the larger centres of Cheltenham, Stratford upon-Avon and Oxford. Communications in the area are excellent, with London easily accessible via the A40/M40, and a mainline railway service to London Paddington from both Kingham and Moreton-in-Marsh within a twenty-minute drive from the house. Sports and leisure facilities include golf at Naunton Downs and Cheltenham. Racing at Cheltenham as well as Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick. There is a popular primary school (OFSTED- good) in neighbouring Temple Guiting and a new Montesorri Nursery in Guiting Power. A bus to the very popular Cotswold School (OFSTED - Outstanding) stops in these villages, with a wide choice of local schools including Pate's Grammar (OFSTED - Outstanding) Cheltenham Ladies College, Cheltenham Preparatory School and Cheltenham College, Dean Close, St Edwards, and Rendcomb.
