Celebrate the festive season in style across Cheshire, North Wales, Anglesey, Shropshire, and Merseyside! Here's a glimpse of the enchanting events awaiting you during Christmas and the New Year. We’ve scoured the web for some events you may not be aware of, for both the young and the more mature alike – but you’d better get planning, some of these events require pre-booking!
Knowsley Safari Park Enchanted Christmas Lights
Discover the enchanted stunning Christmas lights extravaganza at Knowsley Safari Park as it undergoes a dazzling transformation into an illuminated wonderland from 18th November to 30th December.
Wirral MakeFest are running a Relax & Make Christmas Green event on Saturday 2nd of December, between 11am and 4pm at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum in Birkenhead near Oxton. There will be a wide range of hands-on activities and exhibits, with local makers and organisations showcasing their skills in crafts, art, tech, coding, 3D printing, VR, woodworking, and lots more. There will be lots of opportunities to purchase from local makers including Christmas baubles, gifts and jewellery. The event aims to inspire curiosity, encourage experimentation, and promote collaboration among makers of all ages and backgrounds.
Santa Cruise in Cheshire!
The magic of Christmas has once again returned to Anderton Boat Lift. Join Santa and his helpers for a festive cruise along the River Weaver. He is bringing with him some helpers, his story book, some new songs and we're sure there will be some gifts too!
Santa loves having his photograph taken so there will be opportunity for every family to take their own photo with him on the cruise. The cruise will last approx. 45mins. All passengers require a ticket for the cruise which involves sailing along the river, singing songs and children will even receive a gift from Santa!
Polar Express™, Telford – an adventure for all the family. See iconic scenes from the film come to life on your journey to the North Pole. Enjoy a delicious cookie and comforting hot chocolate served in a Polar Express™ cup. The Conductor will keep you safe and entertained on your adventure, steaming to the North Pole and, of course, punch your Golden Tickets. Listen to the story of The Polar Express™ and join in as elements from the story spring to life and the action unfolds onboard.
Arriving at the North Pole; spot the red-brick Elf factory, the clock tower, reindeer, the giant tree festooned with golden lights and…..the Big Man, Mr C, on his magnificent sleigh! Santa will climb aboard the Polar Express, to greet you and present “The First Gift of Christmas”, your Silver Sleigh Bell. Festive carols speed your journey back to the station where the magic continues as you explore the Christmas Workshop, write a letter to Santa and pass through the Naughty or Nice Scanner and take home fabulous memories.
Zipmas at Zip World at Blaenau Ffestiniog – the most magical Santas’s grotto in North Wales! Zipmas is a grotto located deep underground in the historical Llechwedd Victorian slate caverns. Accessed via a festive train ride and featuring 3 enchanting chambers to explore – the light maze, Santa’s Workshop and Santa’s Grotto; this will be a Christmas activity loved by children and adults alike. The fun continues above ground with slate bauble decorating, letter to Santa workshop, plus a complimentary mince pie and hot chocolate or mulled wine. All of the above is included in the ticket price.
Add an extra dash of adventure to the experience by upgrading to the Grotto Golf package, where you’ll enjoy all Zipmas has to offer, plus a round on the world’s only underground golf set in a cavern. Putt your way around this huge 18-hole adventure golf course, which features impressive lighting and interactive elements.
GreenWood Forest Park, Light Up Enchanted Forest is Back for 2023! Easy to get to from the A55 in Y Felinheli. Be mesmerized by the even more twinkling lights and let the festive seasonal sounds fill the air as you explore the enchanted forest, it will be a truly unforgettable festive family adventure.
