Chester Easter weekend events

April heralds the beginning of the Cheshire outdoor events season in earnest.


This weekend it’s the turn of the Taste Food and Drink Festival, taking place in Chester from Saturday to Monday in what promises to be a fiesta of fabulous food!

With over 150 local and national businesses selling their wares with food from all over the world, 30,000 like-minded foodies, cooking demonstrations from well-known chefs and food lovers alike, including Chef Nisha Katona MBE, free food and drink samples to taste and you might just come across something you’ve never tried before!

Expect the best olive oil, beautiful breads, gorgeous gyozas, wonderful wine, kicking kombucha, cracking cocktails and cheeses, delicious desserts among the food stalls and street food sellers. Whether you’re a fully-fledged meat eater, a confirmed vegetarian or a staunch vegan – Chester Food and Drink Festival has you covered. The welcome return of the sausage competition will see local sausage producers compete to win the coveted prize!

This Easter weekend extravaganza takes place in the beautiful surrounds of Chester Racecourse in the heart of the city, making it easy to get to.

If you prefer a little high octane entertainment you can head over to Oulton Park for the Easter weekend and take in a little GT racing!

The British GT & GB3 Championships take place over the entire weekend in the wonderful Oulton Park, Oulton, Tarporley, Cheshire.

This high stakes, high adrenalin event includes racing from the next generation, with the GB3 series for high calibre youngsters on their way to F1 stardom, and the GB4 series for entry level juniors. The British GT Championship is the icing on the cake and promises a sea of super cars battling it out in hour-long races.

The world’s most prestigious racing cars including cars from Aston Martin, McLaren, Porsche, Bentley and Mercedes-AMG, are expected to star in a pair of GT sprint races, with pit stops, driver changes and plenty of drama.

Support races will include racing from the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, TCR UK Championship and the Northern Saloon & Sportscar Championship and there will be plenty of off-track entertainment too, including a super car display, Easter egg hunt, funfair, adventure playground and many trade stalls.
