Easter activities in the North West

Easter is a great time to spend with friends and family, and there are some super events taking place across our region. Whether you engage in Easter activities with children or prefer more adult-orientated activities, you're sure to find something to suit over the holiday weekend.

Out and about at Easter
There’s not a village or town that isn’t geared up for activities over the Easter period, and so you’re sure to find events that meet your needs. From religious services, village hall events, farm-based activities, local markets, concerts or simply a wonderful Easter walk.

North Wales and Anglesey
Whether you’re a thrill seeker or prefer quieter activities, you’re sure to find something to entertain the children – and you – this Easter in North Wales. You could try a dragon egg hunt at Gwrych Castle, or take part in The Great Easter EGGsperience at Manorafon Farm Park, Abergele. Or you could blow off the winter cobwebs with walk around the wonderful landscapes of north Wales…and there are so many to choose from. Find out about activities this Easter on the Visit Wales website.

For a more sedate and grown up experience, The fifth Wales harp festival falls at Easter (5 - 11 April) and takes place in Galeri Caernarfon. Expect competitions for all ages and concerts to soothe the soul. Find out more.  

Cheshire
The Easter weekend in Cheshire is jam-packed full of interesting events and activities, including Easter egg hunts across the region, Easter ice cream at Tattenhall, a really wild Easter egg hunt at Chester Zoo, a tiger coming to tea in Knutsford, and even chocolate making in Tarvin. We're excited for the Nantwich Jazz Festival which is happening from the 6th to the 10th of April. Find all these Easter weekend activities and more on the Visit Cheshire website.

Shropshire
​​​​​​​For a relaxed ​​​​​​​Easter weekend activity why not try your hand a wreath making at Newton Meadow Cottages, or try a traditional hunt for Easter eggs at​​​​​​​ Whitton Hall? There’s a charity bunny trail at Radbrook Estate too. Find these and more activities.

Wirral/Merseyside
The Canal and Rivers Trust is hosting an Easter Boat Gathering at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port from 7 - 10 April, with historic narrow boats travelling from across the country to take part. Expect boat trips, behind the scene tours, engine demonstrations, lock demonstrations and even Morris dancer. Find out more.

Gladstone Theatre at Port Sunlight is putting on a performance of Alice in Wonderland (14-16 April) too, and the Wirral Easter Beer Festival is back (6-9 April).

There’s a free easter egg hunt and owl weekend at Birkenhead Priory, an Easter adventure at Otterspool, Easter egg hunts at Speke Hall, and an indoor funfair at the exhibition centre in Liverpool.
