We were approached via the power of social media by AltyGirlsFC, who were looking for sponsors to provide one of their teams with raincoats for this season, and we could hardly resist!

Already a successful local team, Altrincham FC had a large junior football section and felt that the best way to grow their teams was to develop some serious girl squads.

During the 2008/2009 season, Altrincham Girls JFC began. The dedication of the coaches and fantastic leadership meant that they were able to quickly grow into one of the most successful girls football centres in the area.

With teams in most age groups, the management team realised they'd need some help with kits, so turned to local businesses for support.

The girls now have some snazzy raincoats to protect them from the inevitable rainy Manchester weather!

Anthony Jevons, director at Jackson-Stops Hale said: "We're delighted to be supporting grass roots football in our local community and to help out local girls who love playing football. Women's football appears to be experiencing a swell of support at the moment, especially locally and regionally.

"The success of teams such as Manchester City WFC shows girls just how far they can go with dedication and perseverance, and we're truly proud to be part of that. These girl most definitely can!"
