Why choose Jackson-Stops?

Since we were established in 1910, property markets have changed, technologies have transformed and client expectations have evolved, but our commitment to exceptional personal service has remained constant.

More than just bricks and mortar, we know that your home is as unique as you are, which is why our tailored approach puts you at the centre of all we do.

A HERITAGE BUILT ON TRUST

Over the years, we have navigated every type of market; through it all we guide our clients calmly and strategically.

“As custodians of a brand that has thrived for over a century, we feel a real responsibility to uphold its reputation,” says Sarah-Jane Bingham-Chick, Director, Exeter. “Clients come to us because they value measured advice and long-term thinking, not short-term promises. Many of our clients return to us time and again because they trust both our advice and our personal approach – last summer I sold a particular house for the fourth time in 20 years.

STAYING RELEVANT

But honouring tradition doesn’t come at the expense of adopting new ways of working. We were among the first estate agencies to establish an online presence, and we continue to invest heavily in digital marketing and technology.

“Our history gives clients confidence and our energy and adaptability keeps us relevant. We constantly refine how we operate to ensure we stay ahead,” Annabel Wakley, Director, Chipping Campden explains. “Every property we market benefits from professional photography, carefully crafted editorial copy and strategic promotion across not only our own easy to navigate website, but also the leading portals including Rightmove and social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.”

Our online channels reach over a million people each month, extending visibility well beyond traditional advertising. We also ensure our marketing is optimised for modern search technologies, including AI-driven platforms.

PRINT WORKS

We have not forgotten the power of print, though. As well as the magazine you are reading, we produce Market Review three times a year and advertise regularly in national publications including Country Life, The Sunday Times and Daily Telegraph. And our dedicated PR agency helps to secure editorial coverage in national and regional newspapers, magazines and websites. This exposure complements our digital coverage and national network of offices.

NATIONAL REACH, LOCAL EXPERTISE

With a network of offices across the UK and a presence in central London, we combine national strength with genuine local insight. Each office is rooted in its community, led by experienced property professionals who understand their markets in detail.

“We are not corporately driven but expert in our own areas and well adapted to localised markets with genuine expertise. This allows us to be creative, use our experience, and best deploy our own networks. On a national level, we have a brilliant network of similarly minded, motivated agents,” Nick Ferrier, Director, Midhurst tells us. This network ensures that clients benefit from far wider exposure than a purely local agency could provide. If we have a buyer in Cornwall who might suit a property in Cheshire, our agents can make that connection. That internal collaboration is a huge advantage for clients.

SPECIALIST EXPERTISE WHERE IT MATTERS

Over the years, we have developed specialist departments to support clients with more complex or niche requirements, including New Homes, Country Houses, Equestrian property, Farms and Estates.

“Selling a farm, an equestrian property or a substantial country house is very different from selling a town house,” notes Lottie Watts, Partner, Newmarket. “It requires a deep understanding of land, planning, sporting rights and lifestyle buyers. That’s where our specialist expertise makes a real difference.”

By combining sector-specific knowledge with the strength of our wider network, we ensure distinctive properties are introduced to the right buyers and marketed with authority and precision.

UNRIVALLED SUPPORT FOR LANDLORDS

Our dedicated Corporate Services department exposes properties to London’s biggest relocation agencies and the best corporate tenants.

“We work alongside hundreds of major Blue-Chip companies, often through internal intranet systems where employees choose just to use us to find their next rental. We are essentially acting as their personal relocation agent,” says Alex McConnell, Lettings Director, Pimlico. “We also assist Landlords by taking fees monthly rather than upfront, which ensures cashflow from the start of the tenancy.”

Many of our clients have been letting homes through us for many years. “I have had a lot of the same clients since the day I started,” says Alex, “people who had been with Jackson-Stops for a long time before I joined nine years ago.”

THE PERSONAL TOUCH

We’ve never forgotten that nothing beats the personal touch in the world of estate agency and we work hard to provide the highest level of personal service to our clients. A service that is consistently rated as ‘excellent’ with a score of 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot.

We are proud of our past and confident in our future. That is why, for generations, our clients have trusted us to help them move forward.
