Yorkshire property market comment, autumn 2019

While continued uncertainty remains over Brexit and what the future holds, we have experienced a noticeable increase in activity in York and the surrounding areas of North Yorkshire.

This seems to suggest that buyers are now no longer as bothered on whether we leave or remain and have taken the view that life carries on and so does buying and selling a property

We have experienced a significant uplift in activity over the last four to five months with more properties sold than we have seen for several years. These include a number of city centre properties including a magnificent Regency family home at in excess of £2m to a modest one bedroom apartment.

Likewise, the country market throughout North Yorkshire has been equally busy with sales agreed on all types of properties from cottages to country houses and individual lifestyle properties with businesses attached.

While the public perception of the market may be somewhat negative due to reports and articles published by the press, we believe that Yorkshire is bucking the trend and proving resilient in these challenging times.

This can be demonstrated by a number of sales that we have recently agreed without the properties ever coming to the open market. Here we have successfully undertaken targeted marketing campaigns where we've matched properties against suitable buyers who can purchase immediately.

Even if you're not quite ready to actively market your property, now is still a good time to prepare for the future and begin talking to us about the different options available that can be tailored to suit your property.
