At Jackson Stops, we represent the owners of a captivating array of historic houses, each with its own unique character and story. We understand the discerning preferences of serious buyers who seek an historic property, be it Tudor, Elizabethan, Georgian or even the more contemporary ‘International’ style. Many of these houses are now Listed Buildings which provides a pedigree and level of importance within our built heritage. Our historic houses collection showcases the finest examples of the country's rich architectural heritage.
Over the years, we have been involved in the buying and selling of historic houses, including working for some of the foremost charities, preservation trusts and private individuals who are passionate about preserving and restoring older buildings.
We were the first to submit a Capital Transfer Tax (now Inheritance Tax) exemption report on behalf of clients in the 1970s. We acted for the Trustees of the Calke Abbey Estate; have worked for the National Trust; Historic England and the owners of William Morris’s Red House. For over 40 years we’ve operated alongside the Spitalfields Historic Buildings Trust in their work to preserve and restore Georgian houses in Spitalfields as well as other historic buildings across the country.
We have particular knowledge of Listed buildings and work with The Listed Property Owners’ Club (LPOC), which is a valuable resource offering guidance on planning, maintenance, specialist suppliers and advice on law and insurance issues.
