Kent's hidden gem
At Jackson-Stops, we proudly represent the owners of a captivating array of historic houses, each with its own unique character and story. We understand the discerning preferences of serious buyers who seek a dedicated platform specialising in historic properties, old houses, vintage houses, and historically significant buildings, commonly known as Listed Buildings. Our historic houses section serves as a curated collection, showcasing the finest examples of the country's rich architectural heritage.
For those with an appreciation for history, our selection of listed buildings for sale captures the essence of Britain's past. From elegant Georgian townhouses, Victorian homes to enchanting Tudor cottages, we bring together a range of historical properties.
Over the years, we have been involved in buying and selling historic houses and working for some of the foremost charities, preservation trusts and private individuals who are passionate about preserving and restoring older buildings.
We were the first to submit a Capital Transfer Tax (now Inheritance Tax) exemption report on behalf of clients in the 1970s. We acted for the Trustees of the Calke Abbey Estate, have worked for the National Trust, Historic England and the owners of William Morris’s Red House. For over 40 years we’ve operated alongside the Spitalfields Historic Buildings Trust in their work to preserve and restore Georgian houses in Spitalfields as well as other historic buildings across the country.
Our first Guide to Listed Building Legislation was produced in 1992, setting out our stall as industry experts and we continue to assist owners of Listed Buildings by providing practical, unbiased advice. Research, alongside an understanding of the history and architecture of an historic building, remains at the heart of our work. We are committed to preserving England’s great historic buildings.
