THE PROPERTY
A well-presented and maintained detached house, greatly improved by the current owners. Built and constructed about 20 years ago as a one-off build, Meadow View sits in a wonderfully elevated setting with views overlooking the fields to the front. The house sits on the edge of this pretty Suffolk village and boasts over 2,200 sq ft of well-proportioned accommodation arranged over two floors and presents colour washed rendered elevations with a brick plinth, under a tiled roof.
A storm porch gives access to the entrance hall which features the stairs to the first floor and doors to the ground floor accommodation. The sitting room features a window to the front aspect, an open fireplace with quarry tiled hearth, brick surround and wooden mantel housing a multi-fuel wood burning stove and French doors leading out to the rear garden. The family room/ cinema room has a window to the front aspect and features a media wall with feature fireplace with shelved alcoves to either side. The live-in kitchen/dining room has been beautifully fitted with a comprehensive range of base and eye level units, quartz worksurfaces, inset double ceramic butler sink with mixer tap providing boiling water and filtered water, Neff double ovens, induction hob with extractor over, space for American style fridge freezer and there is also a breakfast bar. An opening leads into the garden room and there is a door into the utility room, which features a range of base and eye level units, quartz worksurfaces with inset ceramic sink with mixer tap over, space and plumbing for a washing machine and a door to the side. The vaulted garden room has windows to two aspects and French doors to the garden. Both the sitting room and family/cinema room enjoy beautiful views over the farmland to the front.
On the first floor there are five bedrooms, the master of which enjoys a large dressing room with fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower room. Bedroom two also benefits from a dressing area and an en-suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom with a panel bath with shower over, low level wc and a hand wash basin.
OUTSIDE
Meadow view is approached over a gravel driveway, providing parking for several cars, leading to a double garage with electric roller doors, power and light. There is an area of lawn with flower beds and borders and gated access to the rear via both sides of the house. The rear garden is predominantly laid to lawn with specimen trees and there is a large terrace area abutting the rear of the house, ideal for alfresco dining. There is also a good-sized garden shed and a wood store.
LOCATION
Meadow View sits in an elevated position within this semi-rural village and is well placed for access to Stowmarket (3 miles), which offers a good range of everyday facilities and the mainline railway station offers a regular service to London Liverpool Street taking approximately 80 minutes. The village is also conveniently located for easy access to the A14 and Stowmarket Golf Club is only 0.5 of a mile away. More comprehensive facilities are available in the historic cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds, which offers an excellent range of amenities, extensive shopping facilities and a good range of leisure facilities including health clubs, swimming pools and golf clubs. Cultural amenities include the beautiful Georgian Theatre Royal and The Abbey Gardens.
The international airport at Stansted is about 60 miles away and in addition to air services there is an express train service to London.
