The Blandford Forum office of Jackson-Stops is the newest in a cluster of five residential sales offices in the county of Dorset.
As experienced Estate Agents in Blandford Forum, we provide an important link between Shaftesbury to the north, Bridport and Dorchester to the south and Sherborne to the west. From this network of offices, we offer clients—whether selling houses or buying them—the best possible marketing and advisory service across Dorset, South Somerset and South Wiltshire. With additional offices in Exeter, Barnstaple, Truro and Taunton, our reach across the West Country is unrivalled by any other national residential sales agency.
This regional presence is linked closely with a national network of offices spread across the country in strategic locations from Cheshire and Yorkshire in the north, through East Anglia, the South East of England and back to the West Country. In particular, seven London offices including our Country Houses & Estates office in Mayfair regularly introduce us to London buyers looking for homes in the West Country.
Situated between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) the historic Georgian town of Blandford Forum remains a significant local business centre. As well as one of the largest regional breweries, Blandford Forum is home to the Royal Signals Regiment, an annual Georgian Fayre in May and the Dorset Steam Fair, which is held a few miles from the town and is one of the biggest events of its type in Europe. However, in Estate Agency terms the real strength of the area lies in the many picturesque villages located in the countryside around Blandford; including Cranborne, Sixpenny Handley, the Tarrants, Bere Regis, the Winterbornes, Milton Abbas, Hazelbury Bryan and Iwerne Courtney. The author Bill Bryson once commented on the lovely sound of the names of many of Dorset's villages.
The county is also fortunate to have many popular schools; including the Sherborne schools, Bryanston, Canford, St Mary's Shaftesbury, Port Regis, Sandroyd, Milton Abbey, Leweston and Perrott Hill, as well as the Salisbury schools and the grammar schools in Salisbury and Poole. These are now a major draw for family home buyers in Dorset, and while Dorset is one of the few UK counties not to have a motorway, itself an attraction for many who choose to make it their home, it has a number of good roads linking into the network and rail access into London Waterloo and London Paddington.
Established in 1908, Jackson-Stops has an enviable history and staff with the experience to uphold the firm's reputation. At the same time the firm has embraced change and has access to some of the most successful online property search portals such as Rightmove and OnTheMarket, its own Twitter feed and Facebook pages and our own award winning website. The combination of an history and strong online presence is supported by a single national database, meaning your property aspirations are matched quickly to appropriate homes.
The personal touch remains equally important, and our provenance and high tech selling tools are supported by a team of local Directors, who will manage every step of the sales process on your behalf; from the brochure, PR and marketing, online listings, viewings and negotiations through to completion and handing over the keys. Head of the Blandford Forum office Simon Milledge has 30 years experience in residential agency and property management throughout the South West of England. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Our Professional South West Property Valuation Department is headed up by Julian Bunkall FRICS who has over 35 years experience and is a registered valuer with the RICS.
