THE PROPERTY

The Haven occupies an excellent position in old Bosham with far reaching views to the head of The Bosham Channel and the surrounding village landscape. We believe the house was built in the 1930's and is now in need of modernisation. The current owners have planning consent (18/00627/DOM) to extend and improve various aspects of the property to create a superb home in this highly regarded position. The current accommodation comprises of a dual aspect drawing room with views over the front garden towards the harbour, a second reception room also with harbour views, kitchen and breakfast room and study, there is also a ground floor utility room and a separate cloakroom. On the first floor the master bedroom has a wonderful aspect towards the harbour and has an en-suite bathroom, there are three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Outside The property is approached from a private road and benefits from ample off-road parking and boat storage area with a double garage and adjoining garage store. The gardens are a particular feature, with areas of lawn, entertaining terraces and direct access onto The Trippet providing commanding views over Bosham harbour. The Location Bosham is perhaps the prettiest of the villages on Chichester Harbour and one of the premier centres for sailing on the south coast with a ready supply of moorings and a thriving sailing club which hosts one of the largest fleets of classic day boats in the country. The village has an interesting history with the chancel of its Saxon church featuring in the Bayeux Tapestry and also having a claim to being the location where King Canute tried to hold back the rising tide. The village has an active local community with a primary school, two pubs and a very popular hotel/restaurant, tea rooms and an arts and crafts centre. A little further to the north is a well-stocked farm shop, sub-post office and medical centre. Sailing is the premier pastime in the immediate area but other recreational activities are well catered for. There are a number of golf courses, windsurfing and bathing from the blue flag beaches at West Wittering and the South Downs National Park. Goodwood is perhaps best known for its racecourse, but also provides a country club and hosts the annual Festival of Speed and the historic Revival meeting in September. Bosham village also has its own railway halt providing a connection to either Chichester or Havant both of which provide regular services to London Victoria and Waterloo respectively.
